Whether you are a youth coach, t-ball coach, middle school or high school coach or any level. You might be a ball player with questions or issues or a parent with something on your mind.
Like, "Do I put my child in rec ball or travel ball? Is it better to focus on one sport or play multiple sports?
How much should my kid pitch? Great question! Pitchers should throw 2 or 3 innings per game. Great baseball coaches know how to create depth in the pitching roster by developing a pipeline of pitchers (4 per age year).
What should I do if I am coaching my own kid? My article on Coaching your own kid.
Should Kids specialize in one position or play several positions? You want players to be able to play several positions. Especially stay in the infield as long as possible and lefties always play first base, pitcher or outfield.
Are playing multliple sports ok or should players specialize in one sport? Play as many sports as possible. An athlete can play many sports well. Just sticking to one sport only does not guarantee a superior baseball player.
